Acts of Kindness: Restoring the heart of Wolfeboro

Built in 1922, the building was originally the Town’s fire house. Once the new town Public Safety Facilities were constructed the building was repurposed as the Wolfeboro Community Center.

For decades, it has functioned as a central public gathering spot for town meetings, local organizations, and family celebrations. It even served as inclement weather housing for the Town’s Department of Parks and Recreation summer programs. Like most buildings, overtime, the structure has fallen into disrepair and is no longer safe. The necessary renovations have begun to preserve the building to serve as a local gathering facility for future generations.

The Heart of Wolfeboro: Community Engagement

On March 21st, 2026 the Wolfeboro Lions Club partnered with the Ladies of the Lake Quilter's Guild to host a Spaghetti Dinner at the Wolfeboro Town Great Hall auditorium to help raise funds for the restoration of Wolfeboro's historic Firehouse which has served as the Town's Community Center since early 2010. This night of good food and company was made possible by the generous support and donations of our friends at Hunters and Harvest Market as well as Hannaford of Alton and Ossipee. Together we raised over $2,700! The Wolfeboro Lions Club added $2,300 making the total donation to the restoration efforts $5,000 - Thank you all!
